Catharine is someone whose creativity seems to be woven through every part of her world. She is a master Calligrapher, Watercolor Painter and Graphic Designer. You may know her work from the incredibly popular Chattanooga 2021 calendar that sold out last year. In it, Catharine captured the sights of our city with her signature charm and precision. The collection of 12 essentially Chattanooga sights became a sort of love letter to our city. Each month presented a new view of landmark architecture or favorite location in the Scenic City… these drawings just seemed to capture our hearts the way they depict the personality and uniqueness of our beloved city.

This response to a Catharine Coll artwork carries a sort of familiarity. It might be because so many of Catharine’s ‘Home Portraits’ have a similar effect by portraying the uniqueness of a special spot and enchanting the viewer. Catharine stays ever busy with commissions for renderings of homes in watercolor and ink that strike a delicate balance between whimsy and strength. These ‘portraits of place’ exhibit Catharine’s signature style that seems to effortlessly carry its own hospitality. The same hospitality that also seems to live and breathe within her Calligraphy work. Yet another discipline where Catharine’s aesthetic sensibilities shine bringing joy and artistry to so many people on very special occasions.
