These paintings embrace the tremendous beauty of the female body in a way that unites perfection and imperfection and inspires the questioning of our cultural norms. This exhibit offers an unwavering glimpse of the unspoken world of the feminine experience yielded with striking authenticity and sensitivity. Laiza shines a light on the inner conversation of self awareness and the common thread of reconciliation of self to cultural aesthetics.

Laiza’s perspective is not just limited to expression on a two dimensional surface. Her conceptual aesthetic easily extends into three dimensional works as well. These works are characterized by natural clay forms that curve and move in a way that seems almost human. This human reflection celebrates the power of our physicality as well as it's beauty... a unique reflection of Laiza's faith and view of God that informs her artwork and world view.

"Yet Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we all are the work of your hands."

-Isaiah 64:8

In this episode, you will get an insider's view of the life of an art student and the creative process as it extends from two dimensional to three dimensional works. Laiza's also shares stories of her experiences in Brazil, how her culture influences her work and why mate is the best tea ever!
